Key Account Manager

Job Description

We are pleased to be working with a well-established and market-leading supplier of PPE and site consumables to the Construction and Housebuilding sectors. Due to continued growth, our client is now looking for a Key Account Manager to join their prestigious offices in North Essex.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a career-driven and ambitious individual who is looking to develop within a growing, forward-thinking organisation.

As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of established customer accounts while identifying opportunities to increase revenue and strengthen long-term partnerships.

You will work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, ensuring they receive exceptional service, competitive solutions, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop existing key customer accounts
  • Build strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across PPE and site consumable products
  • Deliver excellent customer service and account support
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and manage customer expectations
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams including procurement, operations, and customer service
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity
  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall business growth

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be commercially aware, customer-focused, and highly organised with a proven ability to manage accounts and build relationships.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in account management, sales, or business development
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience within PPE, construction supplies, industrial products, or site consumables would be highly advantageous
  • Confident negotiating and managing customer accounts
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
