Health & Safety Manager – Construction Interiors Subcontractor\n * c£60k - £70k (Dependent on Relevant Experience)\n * Additional Benefits\nThe Company\nMy client is one of London’s leading interior specialist sub-contractors working alongside blue chip contractors on some of the most prestigious landmark commercial office projects in the Central London. They have a young, vibrant workforce and are a market leader.\nThe Role\nWorking closely with the companies’ Managing Director and team of Contracts Managers they require a hands on Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor / Manager to manage all H&S related issues and tasks associated in the delivery of projects in high spec, multi storey office developments in Central London.\nKey Responsibilities Include:\n * You will be responsible for the management of H&S across numerous active construction sites\n * Preparing risk assessments and method statements for site operations,\n * Client facing and meetings,\n * The provision of construction phase fire assessments,\n * Construction phase H&S audits,\n * Promoting behavioural based H&S practices to the workforce\n * Overall compliance with the company’s OHSAS 18001 & ISO14001\nAlso dealing with the following:\n * Monitoring and guiding our Manager’s, Fixer’s and Labourers\n * Ensuring our RAMs are 100% accurate and current on all projects at all times, (normally circa 12 live projects running at once)\n * Grading of our projects prior to works commencing (Red, Amber, Green) based on risk\n * Weekly Audits on all projects\n * Weekly Progress Report to management\n * Implementing Change wherever is necessary\n * Deciding how we should operate not just report on how we have performed\n * Setting Standards that get rolled out across all site particularly regarding: Site Set up, Housekeeping, Trolley management\n * Keeping the operatives training matrix up to date at all times: PASMA, Manual Handling, First Aid and CSCS\n * Alcohol & Drugs monitoring of our operatives on our sites (not that we have found this to be an issue to date)\n * Translation of H&S paperwork to ensure all operatives understand what they are receiving and signing\nThe Successful Health, Safety & Environmental Advisor / Manager\nYou will be responsible for over 50 employees on numerous sites in confined areas and will therefore need to have a hands on approach to Health & Safety in order to influence a positive culture and mind-set throughout the workforce.\nYou will need to be able to demonstrate:\n * The management of H&S across multiple sites\n * Preparing of RAMS, Tool Box Talks and Inductions\n * Client liaison and attending regular H&S meetings\n * Carrying out regular site inspections and reviewing practices to determine compliance with RAMS\n * Ideally experienced in the Commercial Fit out market working for a Trade Contractor\n * Someone to maintain our standards and develop the role within the business\n * We are ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 accredited\n * Our H&S standards are good, but can be developed even further\n * We have a H&S culture and ethos in the business and are striving to be the best in our industry\n * We need an energetic and enthusiastic person to take on the role and keep us going forward and progressing in this vital area of our business
